RAINEY – Thank you for your efforts concerning ANN’s website. Fortunately, we have a teacher on our hall who can set up our grade level’s “live” Google documents for everything we have going on. She is a computer whiz at Excel, etc., but it still takes her many hours. I could not attempt to do what she does as I’m very tech illiterate, and I also cannot think spatially. As well, I have to email our Tech Specialist when I have printer problems, computer problems, etc. because I’m clueless about such matters. You have my appreciation. Have a good week.

Hi, I’m checking in again to my favorite authors weblog!!I’m wondering how Barb Thompson and the case against her daughters killer is going! I have every Ann Rule book and hope to get your autograph soon! Love you! Take care everyone!
Ann,
I have heard rumors that you are planning on writing a book concerning Diane Down’s daughter that she gave up for adoption during her trial. When I watched the 20/20 episode I believe you had said that her parentage had not been been verified. Have you been able to do so? And if so, I hate to be a witch, but please don’t write a book on her. I truly enjoy your true crime novels. Please don’t change! Also, I am currently reading you newest novel In the Still of the Night. Has there been anymore head way on the case. I’ll just say it…Ron murdered Ronda.
RAINEY- Thank you for explaining to me. PATTIE- Obviously you missed the post when I stated that I am a computer dummy but with all of the changes that have been made to this site, I find it much easier. I wasn’t complaining at all. I think the WM are brilliant! Wish I was half as computer savvy. I have no problem getting to this site or leaving a reply.
Thanks for the positive feedback, Betty. It’s been a frustrating process getting the new guestbook ready. Change can be difficult, especially when everyone is used to the old way. If anyone has constructive suggestions for improvement, please post or email. Some things can’t be changed, but we’re doing the best we can and learning as we go along.
I love her crime novels…I have an interesting case for her, I will be sending you a fax about it. Thank you for your written words and keep up the excellent works.
Yes, I’m aware that Ann asked the question regarding why so few people are posting. And yes people have a right to comment in anyway they want to. The only point I was trying to make is, within the criticism, there needs to be room for appreciation for what Rainey is trying to accomplish. That’s what I saw lacking in the criticisms. The posts had dropped dramatically prior to the new format, so I don’t think the new site can be blamed for everything.
Ann had ASKED our opinions as to why there are now so few posts. Some of us have tried to offer our thoughts regarding our own disappointments with the new setup. I must know one percent of what Rainey knows re computers, and I do very much appreciate her trying to find something we can use as a Guestbook while all the while having to listen to our rants about the new setup—but we were asked. I’m going to hope that this just might work out. I am amazed though, that there is nothing else.
Ann, Rainey, Jan and all others working on this, let me say I truly apologize for gripping so. Ann first, Thank you or doing all of this for your ARFS, I really do appreciaate it.
Rainey I am certain you must be frustrated, and I can see why. Sitting out here all I’m thinking about is what I like and what I dont’ like and why do things change. Everything changes every day and I know that – just because I’m too stubborn and to self centered to think of others is awful. I am truly sorry to not appreicate what you have created for us.
Saying that I will just learn how to get along with this. I did the same thing with Windows 2000 and VISTA and anything else that is new. Me – I even hate digital camera, I want the old ones with film. There does that show who I really am. Jan thank you for bringing some sanity into this hard head. Ann again thank you for all you have done for all of us, we do so appreciate you.
One thing though Rainey I could sure use – spellcheck – but I know that’s out so I”m kidding.
Sorry again for being such a brat (an old one at that),and please don’t block me from the page, I’ll behave.

I see many complaints re the GB and while I agree that a one page site may be easier to navigate, I don’t agree re the content.
By that I mean that no where have I read one word of acknowledgement re how many hours, days and weeks the WM has put in to this. Nowhere have I seen a kind word or a thank you or even a validation as to her probable frustration re the process AND hard and dedicated work.
The “OLD GB” will never return. It is not technically possible or supportable. Yes, I miss it too but it is what it is.
So, in the creating of this new process how about a little appreciation and support for all that Rainey is doing…for you.
As much as people may miss the old guestbook, this is the best option that Rainey has been able to find to replace it. The old guestbook can’t be brought back because it is obsolete, the program has been dis-continued. Rainey has spent weeks trying to find something that works to replace it. I know she spent all day yesterday trying to make this site more user-friendly and I imagine she is pretty frustrated by now. The option is either to have this or none at all.
Best option because it is freeware, for one thing. Also very well supported and let’s not forget this is Ann’s site.
I remember from reading “Every Breath You Take”, Allen Balackthrone had a vacation home at the Lakes’s Country Club in Palm Desert, CA. Am I remembering this correctly?
Canyon Pam you said it all and I think you said it very well.
I had made up my mind not to say anything again after complaining last time, but I wish to applaud you for this.
Maybe I’m just way too old to learn anything new. Okay enough of that.
Hope you have dug out of your snow and all is well with you and your “kids”. Spring will be here one of these days, hang in there. Everyone have a good day.
I, too, am very confused now. I see 7 posts and have no idea how to see any other ones.
ANN, hope your friend, Donna, is much improved. She is in my prayers.
Betty, all the posts are now on this one page. All the previous posts were too scattered to include in this new version of Ann Rule’s combined Web Log and Guestbook.
TOTALLY CONFUSED NOW STILL LIKE the old site better as geared to computer illeterates like me!!!! Hi all!!! Ann hope you are well and yes like others need a new AR book to read!!!!!!!

Due to valid criticism of the previous attempt to replace Ann’s original, no longer supported, unsecured Guestbook we have streamlined Ann’s Web Log and Guestbook into one forum now. One page, one stop blogging, second attempt.
Hmmmmmm. I like the idea of a Gleblog — combining the Guestbook and Weblog — -but it’s still the same ol’, same ol’, as far as page setup. Still have the dumb “Reply” slot wherein most replies are never read because they are lower on the page — I really think that’s the main problem. Replies are never read by most, some read them and will post a comment on the Reply and most will have no idea to what the last post is referring. THE THREAD IS LOST, and as I say, I THINK THAT’S THE MAIN PROBLEM. Used to be if you were answering some post, or referring to a post, you’d JUST NAME THE PERSON you were addressing, and that was it. It was always very clear. This Reply thing throws everything off (if anybody’s asking me). What are all these bells and whistles (i.e. “One blogger likes this post”…what’s that all about, and who cares?) Dare I show my ignorance and ask what’s a Trackback, and how does this differ from having to click-on to the “Previous Posts,” and do we really need it? I was hoping you’d go to a WHOLE NEW SETUP, more like the old Guestbook, but it’s much of the same, with the main problem being the Replies. I imagine some of us old guys will never be pleased. As I say, I do like the idea of the Gleblog — it will literally keep us all on the same page. That is an improvement.
Love your books I’m from Stanton lived next to Dr. Hansen played and grew up with Terry also everbody else in Stanton. In the same grade as Jim Sampson was the paperboy to the courthouse and jail for years.
Love you Ann and your writing skills! Looking forward to running into in Detroit sometime….hopefully I will have a book in my purse that day!!!! 🙂 Watching you on TV in the Bundy story!
Really confused now! How do we see other ARF’s comments?
Grams,
Thanks for asking. Due to valid criticism of the previous attempt to replace Ann’s original, no longer supported, unsecured Guestbook we have streamlined Ann’s Web Log and Guestbook into one forum. One page, one stop blogging, second attempt.
Wondering when Ann will write a book on terror acts or the like…
I’m looking forward to the next book. When should I reserve my copy? Need my Ann Rule time. She’s amazing.
